Starting Over…

Starting over can be a scary thing. It puts you on a level playing field with many others who
are starting over, just like you. Why would a person want to start over? The reasons can be
endless. There is one thing that I DO believe. It is NEVER too late to start.
I came across this post yesterday about famous people’s rejection letters from the site:
Mental Floss

These are rejections from SUPER famous, SUPER talented people!  Did they start over?
Sure they did! Did they crawl up in a ball in cry? Maybe, but the most important thing
they did was to get back up again and GO FORWARD! They did not allow the opinion
(albeit professional) get in the way of their vision to succeed! NOTHING stopped them.
They had a clear enough vision that they saw the clear picture and plowed on. This is the kind
of story that inspires me to keep going forward with my endeavors, with my vision, my
dream. Take heart and read the rejections letters and know that YOUR dream CAN come true.

Loudly yours,

I caught a little bit of Oprah’s Masterclass a couple of nights ago and was reminded of the Gratitude Journal and how that helps most everyone appreciate what they have in life.  Many say that they have grown through the journal and how it has changed their life.  So, in honor of being grateful, I am going to post, at the end of every blog entry, what I am most grateful for.

I will start today.

A healthy family

The gift of my voice

My ever evolving garden especially my ivy covered post fence

The precious little town I live in

All my good friends who live here with me

Loudly yours,

Five Question Friday on Saturday, 3/30/12

1. What giveaway would you like to do on your blog?
If money were not an object, I would give a way an iPad 3.  I hear its great and I am sure any one would like to win it!

2. If you had to choose between natural artistic ability and natural athletic ability, which would it be?
I would choose natural artistic ability, since it is too easy to lose the athletic ability to an injury or due to age.  Natural artistic ability has more potential and can get better with age.  Not having too much natural athletic ability, I personally don’t miss having it.

3. Do you ditch the coat the minute it becomes “spring” or are you a holdout for more cool temps?
I did fall to the trick of Mother Nature, somewhat.  I did pull some items out, but did not do a fully re submerge my family into the spring/summer wardrobe.

4. What would you do if you won the mega millions lotto of 1/2 billion dollars?
Buy a couple of vacation homes, buy a house to live in while construction was done on mine, buy a Mercedes S-class, put away money for all my kid’s college educations, all my daughter’s weddings, down payments for all their future homes, travel, run a charity in Ecuador, building homes, visit family in Ecuador and buy an estate there, buy new computers, cars for my family members, give to charity. 🙂  I have no problem filling in all that….I had my fill in one of my blogs, which was an experiment to help my think a LOT bigger than I currently was thinking.  It is a lot of fun and FULL of my “what if I had more money than I could dream of” ideas.
5. You are at a hotel by yourself…what do you do?
Take a very long bath, give myself a mani-pedi, read, play on my iPad, workout.  Love it. 🙂

The Green was calling to me today

This morning, I awoke to a calling.  “Get up….come out for a walk to the golf course”, it beckoned.  “No” I reasoned.  “I am too tired….too achy….I think I am not going to work out today….what if there are golfers out there…its too late…”  To no avail, it kept calling to me to come, kept pulling me to go.  So I obliged.

I am so glad I did.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Loudly yours,

The Liebster Blog Award!

Thank you so much, to Amy, (my sweet Sister in law) at My Real Life for this awesome award!

I have taken the liberty to “borrow” the explanation of the award from Amy, who got it from the site of Fluff and Feathers.
Liebster is a German word, meaning dearest or beloved, but it can also mean favorite. The idea behind the Liebster Blog Award is that it is given to talented and/or loved bloggers who have less than 200 followers in order to create new connections and to bring attention to these wonderful blogs!

There are some conditions to accepting the award. One is to acknowledge and thank, through a link, the blogger who was kind enough to nominate you and to cut and paste the award onto your own page. Another is to pass the award on to other deserving bloggers.

Consequently, I would like to pass this award on to the following bloggers:

Alyssa @ Mooklogy, a blog that is looking to clear the air between readers and movie-goers. In her words: “Mookology is my effort to clear the air between readers and movie-goers. I’ve always been fascinated with the transition of words to images, what works, what doesn’t, and why. This is my call to end the segregation of readers and movie-goers.

Sheryl @ Sheryl’s Pearls, a blog about faith and finding lessons in life. In her words: “As for my ‘pearls’… I think there is a lesson in just about everything, so I take ordinary things and try to find life lessons in them. These are my reflections on anything that fascinates or puzzles me: life, love, faith, dreams, the pursuit of happiness, and whatever else crosses my mind”

Linda @ Free Range Cookies, a blog about baking her many recipes, including gluten free cookies, breads and such combined with her wit and humor. In her words:Baking gluten free breads in St. Louis, MO. Half-baked updates from a dedicated cookievore ツ http://freerangecookies.com/

Marte and Kristin @ MARTEANDKRISTIN This blog is a content of two girls from Norway, living a busy life as swimmers and teenagers. It is very interesting to read what life is like in the mind of 2 teenage swimmers from Norway, whose first language is not English, but do an amazing job writing and expressing themselves in English.

Last, but not least, you have to take a peek at Claire’s site, The Eternal Magpie. I just love the subtitle, “easily distracted by shiny things…” (I think it is so catchy!) In Clarie’s own words, “Eternal Magpie is where I consolidate all of my favourite things into one place, and talk about them.” (kind of like mine, but sewing and craft oriented)

Take a look at these, they are fun and a great way to look at life!

Loudly yours,

Five Question Friday 2.24.12

1. What’s your favorite way to spend down time (alone or with a significant other)?
My favorite way to spend down time is to blog or take a bath when I am alone.  Otherwise, when I am with my Honey, I like to sing at Mass or watch a favorite show, like AI.

2. Are you the kind of person that wants things more as soon as you know you can’t have it?
Oh, yes….but it depends on what it is.  As soon as I know something is going to discontinued, I stock up on it.  If it is something over the top and unaffordable, I can forget about it.

3. If you were given $1000 to spend on yourself, what would you buy?
Probably silver or gold. Then I could make more money.  🙂  If I did not have the option to buy those, I would buy a new computer, probably an Apple and give this one to my kids.

4. Do you ever go out to eat by yourself?
Not usually, unless it is an ice cream cone at McDonald’s….but that is alone in the car.  Now, if you are talking about eating alone in the car? Do it all the time.   Out to eat, like at a restaurant? No. Who would I talk to?

5. What company would you want to do a blog review for?
I would blog for Crocs, or Picasa since those are companies I love to use and work with.  I would also blog for Great Wolf Lodge since I love that place so much!!
